Area Structure Plans are important documents that provide a sustainable land-use planning framework that will guide future subdivision and development with the areas designated in the Area Structure Plan. The purpose of reviewing Area Structure Plans is to ensure they conform with the County's Municipal Development Plan. Mountain View County Council approved the Olds Didsbury Airport Area Structure Plan (ASP) Review as part of the Planning and Development workplan for 2023. The Aviation Advisory Committee has been appointed as the Steering Committee and will be driving the review of the ASP forward.

Water Valley / Winchell Lake Area Structure Plan

On December 16, 2022, Council approved the Water Valley / Winchell Lake Area Structure Plan (ASP) Review as part of the 2023 Project Budget and the Planning and Development workplan for 2023. A Steering Committee was appointed on March 8, 2023: Councillors: Dwayne Fulton, Alan Miller, and Deputy Reeve Greg Harris; Water Valley Community Association Representative Lorne Patmore; Public members: Nolan Aldred, Arya Ahmadi, and Dawn Lashmar.
