Connecting Land and Water
Online Event
Monday 07:00 pm to 08:00 pm

Presented by Cows and Fish.

Join us in a screening of Connecting Land and Water: Stories from the Eastern Slopes, followed by a open discussion period with a panel of guests featured in the film. This film features inspiring stories of the people Cows and Fish has worked with, the land owners, user groups, and partner organizations, that have undertaken riparian stewardship projects in the Eastern Slopes. In a time when people are feeling particularly disconnected and polarized, we can look to water to connect us. Connecting Land and Water encourages the viewer to connect their identity-- who they think they are-- with their actions on the land and to connect the choices they make on the landscape to the impacts on our water.

Ecobuffers & Shelterbelts: Free Webinars
Online Event
Monday 07:00 pm to 09:00 pm

Shelterbelts and ecobuffers can prevent soil erosion, mitigate temperature swings, capture snow for water retention or to prevent blowing snow on roadways, sequester carbon, provide habitat for pollinators and other wildlife, and so much more.

But where do you start?  How do you pay for it?  How do you maintain it for the long term?

Join us for a free webinar series on Monday, March 1st and Friday, March 5th , from 7 pm to 9 pm. We’ll cover the basic trunk of knowledge for shelterbelt and ecobuffer design on March 1st and take a deep dive into the roots March 5th.

Sign up for a slot at https://ecobuffers.eventbrite.ca.

Brought to you by ALUS Canada, Agoforestry & Woodlot Extension Society, and Northern Sunrise County.
