Join us for Legacy Land Trust Society’s Annual General Meeting. It will take place at the Lone Pine Hall on Saturday, June 8th from 10 am to 1:30 pm. The event will consist of a bluebird tour, lunch, the Annual General Meeting, and a presentation on soil carbon by Kim Cornish. This is an opportunity to get an update on our projects to date and provide information on projects coming up this year.

On Saturday, June 8th and again on Saturday, July 20th, the Carstairs Artists Guild is hosting an art show and sale at the Half Century Club in Carstairs (Osler Street & Veteran’s Way). Both Show & Sales run from 10 am to 4 pm. There will be tea and coffee available, and a small lunch available for purchase.

Dr. Jill Clapperton is an Internationally recognized Lecturer on how to create and manage the long-term health and productivity of soils. Topics will include; principles of Soil Health, soil, crop & pasture management to optimize soil health, the deep dive into mixed species cropping and pasture stitching, demonstrating healthy soil characteristics & measuring results (rainfall simulator demonstration) and hands-on activities in the field.

Bring your family and friends to enjoy a breakfast served by local dairy farmers! Enjoy a firsthand experience about what life on a dairy farm is all about. This free event is set for Saturday, June 22 from 8 am to 12 noon. VandenBroek Dairy is this year’s host farm and is less than 20 minutes east of Olds on Highway 27 and south on Highway 791. A variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy include: hot and healthy breakfast, barn tours, cow milking, Face painting and calf sketching, and a milk tanker on site.

Please join Central Mountain View Advisory Group (CMAG) for an important information session regarding Trident Exploration shut down of operations and its effect on County landowners. The session will be at Reed Ranch School on Tuesday, June 25th at 6:30 pm.
