Twine Recycling Collection Date
Agricultural Services Shop (next to the County Administration Building)
Friday 09:00 am to 12:00 pm

Takes place at the Agricultural Services shop (next to the County Administration Building at 1408 Twp Rd 320).

Only bagged, clean, and dry twine will be accepted on scheduled collection dates. We encourage you to make an appointment in advance by calling 403-994-0837 or email ag@mvcounty.com.

The collection site is open the first and third Friday each month from 9 am to 12 pm on the following dates:

Please keep in mind twine must be free of hay, straw, mud, manure and debris. Twine must bagged in the clear plastic bags provided free of charge. Bags to collect the twine are available at the County Office and at the Agricultural Services shop.

Join us for Aggie Days - Mountain View 2022!

May 13 and 14 at the Heritage Centre near Cremona, AB. Runs 9 AM to 4 PM both days. Friday will feature Mountain View County School Tours. Saturday will start with a free pancake breakfast and Dustin Farr Concert. From noon to 4 PM is the free family fun for all including exhibits of farm safety and environment; ag producers, growers and business; Ag education and careers featuring the University of Calgary Veterinary School and Olds College; roping and rope making; vintage tractors, and much more.

Get involved with Farm Safety Poster Contest. Posters can be dropped off at the Mountain View County Office care-of Greg Harris.

Bear Safety & Awareness Presentation
Elkton Valley Campground
Saturday 01:00 pm to 03:00 pm

Mountain View BearSmart Society is presenting a Bear Safety and Awareness session at the Elkton Valley Campground on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 1 PM to 3 PM.

Come learn how to avoid encounters with bears while camping and recreating, how to act appropriately if you encounter a bear, and how to use bear spray.

There will also be bea spray training outdoors, weather permitting, and indoor kids crafts and an outdoor treasure hunt, again, weather permitting.

This event is free and the public is welcome. Any donations to the MV BearSmart will be gratefully accepted.

Residents of Divisions 1, 3 and 7 are invited to a multi-divisional Open House event scheduled for Thursday, May 26 at 7 PM at Lone Pine Community Hall.

Councillors Dwayne Fulton (Division 1); Alan Miller (Division 3); and Jennifer Lutz (Division 7) look forward to hosting residents for an evening of information, discussion and feedback. There will be short presentations, but the evenings will be mostly an informal meet and greet to hear from County residents.
