Mountain View County has released a new mobile applications to facilitate two-way information sharing with County residents and ratepayers. And it's here just in time for Christmas!
The new mobile app, found in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for both iOS and Android devices, will offer users the opportunity to receive alerts and push notifications from the County along with the ability to submit service requests, bylaw complaints and suspicious activity notifications all at the user's fingertips.
Users can download the app by searching Mountain View County in their app store. It is free to download and offers the user to then select what functionality they want to access.
The app will prompt users to select their division to tailor messaging. However, there is the option to opt in and out of certain functions, making the app customized to the user's needs and wants. They can receive all alerts and notifications, ones just pertaining to their division or none if they choose. It is also GPS enabled in the reporting functions if the user opts to utilize that function when making a service request on a road or submitting a bylaw inquiry.
County Council approved the development of the mobile app in the 2020 capital budget as part of the Strategic Communications Plan it adopted in 2019. That plan seeks to provide as many two-way communication methods for residents to receive information from the County and to provide feedback in terms of services, programs and issues as they arise.
Mountain View County will continue to message through its traditional methods in addition to the mobile app. With multiple venues for information sharing the County is hoping that information can get to residents in their preferred format.
