Construction on Township Road 320 (Bergen Road) between Highway 22 and Range Road 53 should be fully complete by the end of June if weather cooperates.
The tentative schedule calls for site preparation for paving to continue for the remainder of May, with paving activities expected to start in the first two weeks of June. An additional two weeks for site cleanup and miscellaneous items should see completion of activities before July.
However, it is important to note that the tentative schedule remains weather dependant.
Activities on the road resumed last week with the recent warmer weather and favourable site conditions. County administration met with the contractor and consultant, and developed the current tentative work schedule.
This resumption of construction work will mean periodic lane closures and motorists are warned to expect rough road conditions in the construction zone. Motorists not travelling to the Bergen area specifically are asked to utilize alternate routes.
Signage will be posted at each end of the work zone and updated based on ongoing activity.
Notification will continue through the “County Connection” pullout in the Mountain View Albertan, on the County’s social media channels, and through push notifications on the County app.
RR 54 Culvert Replacement
A culvert replacement in the Bergen Rural Neighbourhood will result in the closure of Range Road 54 between Township Road 322 and Township Road 320 from May 10th to June 11th (see map right).
Local residents will have access to their properties, but there is no through traffic.
Traffic will be diverted to Highway 760 to avoid the closure. This detour may also bring motorists into a portion of the main Bergen Road (RR 320) construction project.
The County thanks residents and motorists for continued patience during this project.
