Resumption of activities on the extensive road construction on the Bergen Road between Highway 22 west to Range Road 53 (Fallen Timber Trail) is scheduled to begin this week.
The County administration will be meeting with the contractor and consultant this week to discuss outstanding work, timelines and expectations.
A schedule update is expected to be available next week.
This resumption of construction work will mean periodic lane closures and motorists are warned to expect rough road conditions in the construction zone. Motorists not travelling to the Bergen area specifically are asked to utilize alternate routes for their commute.
Signage will be posted at each end of the work zone and updated based on ongoing activity.
Notification will be provided to area residents and motorists through the “County Connection” pullout in the Mountain View Albertan, on the County website, on the County’s social media channels, and through push notifications on the County app; available for download in both the Apple Store and Google Play Store on most mobile devices.
RR 54 Culvert Replacement
A culvert replacement in the Bergen Rural Neighbourhood will result in the closure of Range Road 54 between Township Road 322 and Township Road 320 from May 10th to June 11th.
County crews will undertake the replacement work and with favourable weather should have the road open to traffic by the planned date. Local residents will have access to their properties, but there is no through traffic.
Traffic will be primarily diverted to Highway 760 to avoid the closure (see map). This detour may also bring motorists into a portion of the main Bergen Road (RR 320) construction project.
The County thanks residents and motorists for their patience for the duration of this project.
