Water Valley / Winchell Lake ASP

Please be advised that on December 1, 2010 Mountain View County Council made the following motion:

"That Council request that the SE Sundre Area Structure Plan, Wessex Area Structure Plan and Water Valley/Winchell Lake Area Structure Plan be placed on hold until the completion of the Municipal Development Plan Review; and further, that an update on the process and timelines initiating the Area Structure Plans be brought back to Council to the first Council Meeting in September, 2011."

Accordingly, the Water Valley/Winchell Lake Area Structure Plan project is on hold until the review of the Municipal Development Plan has been completed.

Project Overview

The Water Valley/ Winchell Lake Area Structure Plan (ASP) provides a vision for the future development of land located in the southwest corner of Mountain View County; bounded by Highway 22 to the East, Rocky View County to the South and MD of Bighorn to the West. Highway 579 runs through the study area.

The County and Steering Committee are committed to an open and transparent public consultation process in the development of this ASP. The Water Valley /Winchell Lake Area Structure Plan is a project that welcomes input from anyone throughout the duration of the project. You can submit your comments by mail or email.
