Named for the Hainstock family, early settlers northwest of Olds, Hainstock Public School District 310 was formed in 1894. The original log school was built on the farm of Robert Hainstock, which was located one and a half miles north of the present-day Hainstock Cemetery on NE 10-33-2 W5. The school, which was later rebuilt on the NW 10-33-2 W5, closed in 1969, and was transferred to the Hainstock Community Association.
