Municipal Development Plan Review 2011
Mountain View County has started a review of its Municipal Development Plan.
Each municipality is required by the Alberta Government to have a Municipal Development Plan (MDP). The MDP must address:
- How land is developed now and in the future;
- Provision of transportation systems and municipal services;
- Provision of municipal and school reserves;
- Policies that are compatible with the Alberta Subdivision and Development Regulations regarding the protection of agricultural operations.
The Municipal Development Plan review process will involve the following key steps:
Step 1. Cultivating Consensus -the exploration of the MDP's core directions and existing policies
Step 2. Growing Your Plan - the development and confirmation of key principles to guide policy creation
Step 3. Harvesting Your Vision - the formation of policy for the MDP
Step 4. Bringing it Home - the plan review and refinement
Draft MDP
Below is the draft version of the MDP and the summary of amendments that will be discussed and reviewed with all interested members of the community at upcoming open houses.
The document may take a few moments to download depending on connection speed.
