Muncipal Emergency Services
Shared Services
Delivering rate payer value is a responsibility we take seriously. One of the ways we ensure exceptional services at value driven costs, is by taking a collaborative approach to service delivery with our urban partners. For example, fire department costs are shared on a population ratio (% rural versus % urban) by the County and our urban centres.
Partnerships
The County's Patrol Division works collaboratively with many other enforcement agencies including the RCMP, the Canadian Pacific Railway Police, Inspection Services of Alberta Transportation, Alberta Fish and Wildlife and other municipal enforcement agencies.
Emergency Management
As rural community, Mountain View County faces unique challenges in terms of distance and geography. These factors can play a critical role in the event of a major disaster scenario. In 2003, Mountain View County's Disaster Services Team, comprised of regional fire departments, ambulance providers, the RCMP, County Constables, County Public Works staff and hospitals launched a disaster simulation that put the County's resources and communication skills to the test.
