Rural Addressing

Mountain View County has introduced a rural addressing system which offers an individual address and house number for every rural household in the County. Your rural address is linked to 9 - 11 operators who will provide to Emergency Service responders to ensure your household is located quickly and efficiently in the event of an health, fire, or police emergency.

A rural address is not the same as a legal land description (which provides coordinates for land, but which does not identify individual households on a property) or a postal address which directs mail through Canada Post.

To ensure the safety of your rural household, it is imperative to post your address ASAP.
