MAP Initiatives
Past Initiatives
- Adopted a mission statement and principles for collaboration between the six municipalities;
- Developed a new fire agreement between the County and each of the five urban municipalities;
- Developed a regional sustainability plan;
- Regional Employee Health and Safety Program developed;
- Formation of a Regional Parks, Recreation and Cultural Master Plan;
- Hosted an information session for prospective Council candidates for the 2007 Municipal elections;
- Developed Regional Application for Family and Community Support Services (FCSS);
- Developed of a consistent Inter- municipal Development Plan (IDP) negotiation procedure between the County and each of the urban communities looking to annex lands.
Future Initiatives
- To produce a Regional Sustainability Plan, and feed local Sustainability Plan goals into the regional plan;
- Build from a Regional Economic Workshop held on September 16, 2008;
- Undergo a Regional Fire Service Review and Master Plan- Consultant has been conditionally accepted
- Undertake a Regional Housing Needs Assessment
- Finalize IDPs, Annexations, Master Agreement
